Hansie en Grietjie emerged from a love for African wildlife and a desire to bridge the gap between scientific conservation talk and community action. As a zoologist, I understood the urgency of species extinction in Africa and saw the need for a platform to make wildlife conservation accessible and engaging for the community. Together with my husband Hansie, who shares my conservation passion, we launched Hansie en Grietjie to foster collaboration between scientists and local communities to protect our precious wildlife.

More recently, our journey took a deeply personal turn. Our beautiful daughter was born deaf and has recently received her cochlear implants. This life-changing experience inspired us to create cochlear implant skins — unique, stylish covers that make the hearing journey fun, personal, and full of personality. What began as a way to celebrate her individuality has become something we wish to share with the world. Through her joyful designs, we hope to bring a smile to others on similar journeys — just as they do for her every day.
